Guidance

About the Department

The Guidance Department at Dover High School assists all students in their personal growth through the development of educational planning, self-awareness, goal setting, decision-making, implementation of career plans and the evaluation of personal and career goals. School counselors are student advocates who work cooperatively with other individuals and organizations to promote the development of our students. School counselors consult and collaborate with teachers, administrators and families to assist students in preparing for college, post-secondary success, and encourage the pursuit of life-long learning.

Parents are encouraged to contact the student’s counselor at any time with concerns regarding academic progress, student’s preparations for college and career readiness, and other concerns. Students can request an appointment with their counselor or come in to meet during any non- instructional time during the school day or before or after school hours. Parents are welcome to visit at any time or call
(973) 989-2062 to arrange for an appointment.
